I will be MRA+10 eligible and 58 y/o in a couple of months. I’ve downloaded calculations for FERS and know which option I want for FERS piece. My question is, can I withdraw from TSP at age 58 under MRA+10 rules without penalty?
Stan, great question. In short, if you separate from Federal service after the age of 55 then you can take funds from your TSP without a 10% penalty. There are some more rules on how this works, you can check out our article here – https://plan-your-federal-retirement.com/tsp-withdrawal-penalty/
