Wow! We are 1 week away from our FERS Federal Employee Benefits Class! We’re really looking forward to meeting you in class and helping you learn about your FERS Retirement benefits.
Watch this video from Micah Shilanski, CFP®, about some common questions we get before class, and what you should bring to class:
What about your Spouse?
One of the questions we are often asked is, “Can my spouse come with me to the retirement class?” YES! Not only “can” they come to the class but they SHOULD come to the class.
Do they need to register?
Yes. We need them to register for the class so that we ensure that they have a seat. As we mentioned, we limit the seating and we want to ensure they are included. If your spouse is not already registered, please call our office at (907) 278-1351.
What to bring?
When we begin class we are going to ask for your questions. We want to make the most out of the 8 hours that we are going to spend together so we want to ensure we know what it is that you want to learn about.
Also, many Federal Employees find it really beneficial to bring in some of their employment information. Here is what some of the students that we have taught have told us are really beneficial to have with them:
- Retirement Benefits Statement
We will NOT ask you to share this information with us or anyone else. During our class though, many students like to refer to this information so they can see how it applies to them specifically.
Sold Out Class
You’ve probably already heard that our in-person classes are completely sold out. We wish we could accommodate everyone who wants to come – but we feel it’s important to keep our class sizes small so we can answer questions and keep class moving.
If you’re registered for class – then your seat is confirmed. We only offer in-person classes a few times a year, and our next classes might not be until the Fall, or even next year. So if something comes up and you can’t make it please let us know right away so we can offer your seat to someone else.
